Our Range
What is Commercial Sheet Vinyl Flooring?
Commercial sheet vinyl flooring is supplied in rolls, typically 2 metres wide and installed in large continuous sections. This reduces the number of joins, improves hygiene and creates a clean finish.
Sheet vinyl flooring is particularly well suited to areas where slip resistance, cleanliness and durability are essential. Commercial sheet vinyl can be hot welded at the seams for a watertight finish, taken up the wall to form a 100mm coved skirting and installed in areas with heavy footfall or wheeled traffic.
The flooring brands we supply and install include Altro, Polyflor, Forbo and Tarkett.

Types of Commercial Sheet Vinyl Flooring
Safety vinyl flooring is designed to reduce the risk of slips. Often graded with an R rating, slip resistant aggregates are embedded throughout the vinyl wear layer, providing consistent slip resistance. For reference, an R12 safety vinyl typically offers greater slip resistance than a safety vinyl graded R10.
Safety flooring can be found in healthcare facilities and hospitals, commercial kitchens and food preparation areas, schools, colleges and universities, changing rooms, corridors and toilets.
Safety flooring is able to be welded together at the joints and can be taken up the wall, capped and coved. Safety flooring offers excellent performance in high risk environments. We regularly install safety vinyl flooring from Altro, Polyflor and Forbo, all recognised leaders in commercial safety flooring systems. Altro Stronghold is a leader if you need a robust commercial kitchen vinyl. Polysafe Verona offers attractive colours for everyday applications as does Forbo Surestep Original.
Heterogeneous vinyl flooring is, made up of multiple layers, including a protective wear layer and a printed design layer. This construction allows for a wide choice of colour, patterns and realistic finishes, while still delivering strong commercial performance.
Heterogeneous vinyl may not be a phrase you have heard of, or be familiar with, but certainly you may have stood on it, as it can often be found in offices and commercial buildings, retail spaces, education facilities, general public areas and healthcare.
Heterogeneous vinyl flooring is smooth and whilst it may have an R10 rating, typically this is for dry slip (DS). It is therefore not designed for wet areas, instead a safety floor should be used.
Manufacturers such as Polyflor, Tarkett and Altro offer extensive heterogeneous vinyl ranges.
An example of this is Polyflor Forest FX which is a durable wood effect vinyl and Altro Operetta which offers a designer look robust vinyl.
Homogeneous vinyl flooring is manufactured from a single solid layer, with colour and pattern running through the full thickness of the vinyl. This makes it exceptionally hard wearing and ideal for refurbishment over its lifespan.
Homogeneous vinyl is smooth and is popular in laboratories and clean rooms, heavy traffic commercial areas such as hospitals and educational buildings. It is extremely durable and long lasting, offers excellent hygiene performance, and be refreshed through machine cleaning.
A popular choice is Polyflor XLPU which has a marbleised appearance and is very tough, performing well in heavy footfall.
With over 50 colour choices in the range, Tarkett IQ Granit is a popular choice for hospitals, where thousands of meters have been installed.
LVT is a vinyl flooring option designed to replicate wood, stone or tile finishes in plank or tile formats. While LVT offers excellent design flexibility, it differs from sheet vinyl in both construction and installation. We have a dedicated LVT flooring page if you would like to read more on this.
If you are unsure whether sheet vinyl flooring or LVT is best for your project, our team will be happy to discuss this with you.
