At Meadee Flooring, we have a lot of experience in repairing all sorts of floor coverings in Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire. Over the past two decades, Meadee Flooring has repaired hundreds of floors with the client’s wishes at the forefront of the repair.
As the name suggests, a flooring repair is the process of fixing damaged flooring to restore its appearance and/or the integrity of the floor rather than replacing the entire floor. This can be an effective way of extending the floors life in certain circumstances. It is especially useful in commercial applications whereby the downtime of replacing an entire floor is considerably longer than repairing certain areas.
Although repairs are not the most glamorous work on our flooring portfolio, we feel it’s still important to carry out repairs where possible. Of course, not everything we see is repairable, but we will get to that further along.
We will do our utmost to accommodate your needs and help you in an emergency.
Our Team in Action - A Past Commercial Floor Repair
A before and after picture of a flooring repair in a busy hospital corridor. The work had to be completed overnight, on a tight deadline, before the hospital became too busy to complete the repair.
Our Range
Rubber Floor, Linoleum, Carpet and Vinyl Floor Repairs
We always start by requesting an image of what needs to be repaired and finding out what the room is used for. Based on this, we can advise you if it’s something we can repair and, if so, how we would go about repairing it.
Of course, it’s not always possible to repair the floor covering to its original state. We may need to cut out the old piece of flooring and install (as close as possible match!) a new piece in its place. This could be visible in the finished work, so it’s always important to remember that patching in new to old is never going to look as good as a whole new floor. Your existing flooring may be discontinued and certainly will be aged, and so will look different even if it’s exactly the same product.
It’s not possible to repair all floor coverings. If the flooring is too old or in too bad a state, we may not be able to do anything with it other than recommend a replacement.
The types of repairs we have carried out include:
- Vinyl flooring patch repairs
- Rewelding vinyl joints
- Replacing doorbars
- Refixing/replacing stair nosings
- Refixing/replacing capping or other trims
- Filling in the flooring where walls/doorways have been moved
The flooring brands we supply and install include Altro, Polyflor, Forbo and Tarkett.

Flooring Repairs FAQs
Can my floor be repaired?
We’ll always be honest about whether or not a floor is suitable for repairs or will need to be replaced. Send us an email at info@meadeeflooring.co.uk with some photos of what needs to be repaired and we will let you know!
Do you offer out of hours floor repairs?
We offer an out-of-hours fitting service to fit around your business’s needs and avoid any sales downtime. Simply contact our team and we’ll arrange a time to repair your commercial flooring that fits you.
Can you repair all floors?
Depending on the exact repair, we can repair vinyl floors, carpet, linoleum and luxury vinyl tiles and rubber flooring. We don’t fit nor repair solid wood or any type of laminate product.
Will I be able to notice that the floors been repaired?
Whilst we take every care to ensure a professional finish, you will be able to notice a difference between older and newer sections of the floor. Over time your flooring has aged and so putting a new piece of flooring down next to old is usually noticeable. We always try to make the repairs look as close as possible to the original but of course, there’s likely to be a difference. If you know what your existing floor covering is, that would be helpful.
Can you repair ripped vinyl flooring?
Yes. If you have a tear in your vinyl flooring, we can do our best to repair the affected area or suggest alternatives if the damage is too great to be repaired.
