Commercial Kitchen Flooring

Trusted Commercial Kitchen Flooring Suppliers And Installers Complying With HSE Guidance

When buying commercial kitchen flooring for your business, it is vital that you choose an established company that knows how important it is that your kitchen flooring meets the highest standards.

At Meadee Flooring, we have a lot of experience fitting commercial kitchen flooring in Berkshire, Hampshire, London, Surrey, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire. We know how important kitchen flooring is to your business, that’s why we take great pride in delivering a first-class service and leaving you with a floor that will be suitable for years to come!

It’s imperative that commercial kitchen flooring has a high slip resistance rating and complies with relevant HSE guidance. Commercial kitchens are generally fast paced environments. This environment paired with grease and water can lead to potentially severe slip hazards. Because of this, we can guide you to a suitable floor such as Altro Stronghold 30 or Polysafe Apex 55 but we will talk more about flooring options further on.

Getting Expert Advice and Support

Choosing the Right Commercial Kitchen Flooring for Your Business

Your staff are paramount to your business and you can’t afford for them to be injuring themselves at work. For this reason, it’s important a suitable floorcovering is installed (and maintained properly too!).

Popular choices for commercial kitchen floors include Altro Stronghold 30 as shown here. At 3mm thick, it is designed to minimise risk in wet and greasy conditions for the lifetime of the product. It also achieves Altro’s highest slip resistant rating – making it the go to product for commercial kitchens. This product also comes with a product guarantee of 20 years, so you have peace of mind for a long while!

Another popular choice is Polyflor’s Apex 55, like Altro Stronghold, this product is hardwearing and built for the busiest of kitchens.

On a tight deadline? Altro also offers an adhesive free version of Stronghold which is designed with a special backing to minimise installation times.

The Importance of Proper Floor Installation and Maintenance

Commercial Kitchen Flooring Installation for Minimal Downtime

Meadee Flooring specialises in supply, consultancy and installation of vinyl flooring for commercial kitchens across London, Reading and the Berkshire area, as well as country wide. We tailor our service to your needs to ensure your flooring will meet the demands of your kitchen.

We commonly fit vinyl flooring for commercial kitchens in a capped and coved method. This is where the vinyl goes up the wall approximately 100mm. We always weld together vinyl sheets which gives a waterproof finish over the whole kitchen. We can also install vinyl into drains/gulleys as long as a suitable vinyl tuck down drain is present.

Why choose vinyl commercial kitchen flooring over ceramic tiles? Firstly, vinyl can be installed faster than ceramics. It’s also much easier to clean as there’s no grout joins where bacteria can hide. Vinyl is not prone to impact damage and is highly unlikely to crack or chip if something is dropped on it. Can the same be said for ceramics?

Vinyl also improves noise reduction and comfort underfoot, whereas ceramics are hard, meaning they’re often noisier and harder underfoot, not ideal if you’re standing up all day.

Commercial Kitchen Flooring FAQs

How long does commercial kitchen vinyl flooring last?

Can you fit our kitchen flooring while the space is being used?

If you have two distinct parts of a kitchen, we might be able to work on one half whilst you or your team are using the other half. We will either need to ply or latex your subfloor ready for vinyl unless an adhesive free flooring is being laid. But in any event, this can be a dusty process so it is not always practical.

We do offer an out of hours fitting service so we can definitely work with you to install your flooring during quieter days or times that suit you and your business best.

Do you install waterproof commercial kitchen flooring?

Once installed, the vinyl sheets are all joined together with a hot air welder, so the flooring will be waterproof and durable against normal cleaning techniques and any spills you may have.

Do you install anti-slip commercial kitchen flooring?

Definitely. All our commercial kitchen flooring ranges are designed with safety in mind so they are all slip resistant. With regular cleaning, the oils and grease will not impact the floors’ non-slip qualities and the floor will maintain its excellent performance.
