Specialist Supermarket in Lower Early

Brief

Our client, local to Reading, wanted to update their flooring ahead of their specialist food store opening. They had recently taken on this unit located within a busy supermarket complex. They wanted a hard-wearing safety flooring which would cope with shelving and high footfall but be easy to keep clean and maintain.

Process

Our estimator initially visited the new shop to understand the client’s needs. This included conversations around the customer’s vision including style, colour and the functional requirements. With a good understanding of what the customer wanted, we were able to provide various samples which fitted their brief.

It was agreed that we would undertake the work, which included:

• Uplift and disposal of previous stuck down tiles
• Subfloor preparation including prime and latex
• Fitting of safety flooring to shop and staff toilet areas in Altro Walkway
• Welding joins
• Installation of entrance matting
