Brief

This data centre in Slough got in touch with us to carry out some repairs on their homogeneous vinyl flooring. The damage was caused by server cabinets being pushed back and rucking up the vinyl.

Process

Our estimator visited the site to see how many patches needed to be done and how large they were. Over the 700+ sqm room, there were nearly 200 individual repairs.

We took samples and managed to match the floor covering as the data centre didn’t know the brand/colour. As this was an ESD floor covering, we took care to not damage the copper earthing and used F57 conductive adhesive.

There were also offices to fit in carpet tiles.

  • Cut out patches
  • Subfloor preparation, including re patching in smoothing compound
  • Fitting Polyflor OHMega EC vinyl flooring with F57 conductive adhesive
  • Groving and hot welding the patches
  • Fitting of Desso Essence carpet tiles to the office space

Result

The client was happy with the repaired floor and it was ready to be leased to another user.
