This global manufacturing facility is located locally, in Reading.

We have worked on this site multiple times over the years.

They contacted us to update the flooring in their reception waiting room and on their stairs.

After initially measuring the area and discussing various flooring choices, the customer came to the conclusion that they would like Gerflor Lunar carpet tiles in colour picard.

Process

We fitted the carpet tiles throughout the waiting room and then installed them up the stairs, replacing the previous flooring while retaining the existing stair nosings at the client’s request.

The customer contacted us again to replace the flooring in two large kitchen areas.  

Our estimator visited the site, to establish the requirements of the job and measure the areas. Various flooring options were discussed and it was decided that a heavy duty, high slip resistance vinyl safety flooring would be most appropriate due to the risk of spillages.  

The customer decided on Altro Stronghold 30 in star. 

Altro Stronghold 30 is a safety flooring vinyl product with 3mm thickness and wear layer. It achieves Altro’s highest slip rating, scoring PTV > 55 on the pendulum test and having a R12 slip rating. It is a great choice for areas with a high risk of spillages.  

The customer also expressed that they would like the job done on weekends to minimise disruptions to business which we catered for. 

On commencing the job, we uplifted the existing flooring. The subfloor was in poor condition so we had to mechanically grind off the old latex.

We then proceeded to prime and latex the areas to smooth the subfloor, ready for the new flooring to be fitted.  Once the subfloor was prepared, we fitted the Altro Stronghold flooring, capped and coved the perimeter, and welded all joins for a watertight finish.  

Later the same year, the customer asked us to return to fit another office area. The area was measured and the customer decided on Polyflor Expona commercial LVT in a wood effect plank. 

We uplifted the existing flooring, applied a 3mm coat of latex and fitted the new flooring.

After completing multiple successful jobs for the customer, they contacted us again to fit new flooring in their office area. 

As the subfloor was so rough. we primed and latexed the floor prior to fitting the new carpet tiles.
