Goods Lift Lobby in the City of London

Brief

This lift lobby is located in a prominent 35-floor skyscraper building in the heart of the City of London.

They contacted us when they required new flooring in their main goods lift lobby.

The customer wanted to update their flooring as it was showing signs of wear. They also requested that it be done over a weekend, rather than usual working hours, to allow no disruption to business.

Process

Our estimator visited the site to gain an understanding of what was required for the job and measure the area. It was decided that they would need a heavy duty flooring due to heavy trolleys being rolled over it on a daily basis.

We provided the customer with a variety of samples, similar to their existing flooring, and they decided on Altro Stronghold 30 in abyss.

Altro Stronghold 30 is a safety flooring vinyl product with 3mm thickness and wear layer. It achieves Altro’s highest slip rating, scoring PTV > 55 on the pendulum test and having a R12 slip rating. It is a great choice for high traffic areas.

On commencing the job, we uplifted the existing flooring, revealing the subfloor which we primed and used F. Ball’s Stopgap 300 latex to give a smooth finish.

Once the subfloor was prepped, we fitted the new flooring and welded the joins.
