Brief

This care home is located in West Berkshire.

The customer got in touch when they required new flooring for an extension. The area included a lounge area and 3 bedrooms with en-suites.

Process

Our estimator visited the site to assess what needed to be done and discuss with the customer what they wanted from the job. After providing the customer with samples and talking through options, the customer decided on using IVC’s IPerform 70.

IVC’s IPerform 70 features a 0.7mm wear layer and is a class 34 product, meaning it’s suitable for very heavy commercial use. This product also comes in 2 or 4m widths to minimise joins. The client decided on the colour T96 Toronto.

As this was a new extension with a new sand and cement slab, there was contruction moisture present. After testing the moisture content, we knew we needed to install some sort of damp management. F.Ball’s F78 product is a waterproof surface treatment that suited this job perfectly.

After two coats of the F78 were dry, we latexed the floor with f.Ball’s 1200 latex. Once the subfloor was dry and ready for fitting, we proceeded to fit the vinyl.
