Brief

This local coffee shop chain contacted us to install new flooring in their new location.

They were having extensive building works and part of the project required us to coordinate with other trades on site to ensure a seamless process with minimal disruption to others and ourselves.

Our estimator met with the customer on-site to discuss their flooring needs and their vision for the new shop.

The customer wanted to achieve a wood-effect look without the ongoing maintenance of real wood in their main seating area and needed a non-slip safety flooring for the other areas.

Process

After reviewing samples, they decided to go ahead with Polyflor Expona Commercial PUR in grey salvaged wood for the main seating area. For a safety flooring solution behind the counter and in the toilets, they selected Altro ContraX in nearly black.

Polyflor Expona Commercial PUR is a luxury vinyl tile product with a 0.55 wear layer and 2.5mm overall thickness. It is a versatile product ideal for use in both heavy traffic areas and residential applications.

Altro ContraX is a versatile safety flooring product with a total thickness and wear layer of 2mm. It offers sustained slip resistance and offers no-frills functionality in hard working areas where spillages are a concern.

On commencing the job, we applied a coat of primer and latex to the entire area to smooth it ready for fitting.

We then proceeded to lay the new flooring in the designated areas, giving this area a modern look.
