Assisted Living Apartment in Hampshire

Brief

This assisted living apartment in Hampshire needed modernising ahead of a new tenant moving in. The client wanted a homely, comfortable finish throughout, without compromising on the safety-flooring standards a shared assisted living building requires.

Process

Our estimator visited the apartment to talk through what mattered most to the client. Achieving a homely feel came first, so we proposed new carpet for the living areas, vinyl for the kitchen, and a dedicated safety wet room floor for the bathroom. We sent samples across based on this brief, and once the client had chosen their finishes, we got to work.

We started by uplifting and disposing of the old carpet and vinyl, then prepared the subfloor with primer and latex in the kitchen and wet room ready for the new flooring. We fitted a Cormar carpet with underlay and gripper through the living areas, Polyflor Secura vinyl in the kitchen, and Altro Aquarius in the wet room, along with new door bars throughout to finish the transitions between rooms.
